Absolute Communications Ltd is an established company looking for an experienced technician to work on the fiber network for installation and maintenance. We are looking for a fiber technician who has the following qualifications and experience:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant NZQA Qualification in Telecommunication or networking or Networking technology or IT industry
• Innovative and team-focused with the ability to generate solutions that produce results
• Must be a self-starter, work autonomously and well within a team environment
• Fault finding and repairs of Fiber optics using Fiber equipment
• Able to work with Ribbonets
• An energetic personality and enthusiastic approach towards work
• Sound computer skills for record keeping
• Must be a fit, healthy, reliable, honest, hardworking and knowledgeable technician, with strong Health and Safety Awareness
• The ability to travel to other areas to assist the business as required
• Have a minimum full Class 1 Driver's License and own a vehicle
• Minimum of 2 Years experience in the IT or Telecommunications sector
• Knowledge of reading and interpreting plans to work
• Must have First Aid training
• Advantage if have WTC1 & WTC3 qualification

Key Responsibilities:

• Fiber blowing and splicing
• Fiber installation on residential or commercial premises
• Fiber maintenance
• Installing Aerial and underground cables
• Knowledge of Fiber optic equipment
• Ability to read telecommunication network framing diagrams, plans and terminologies
• Civil work including trenching, Concrete cutting, Hauling of cables and reinstatement
• Modem/router/Wi-Fi installation and configuration
• Integrating existing legacy wiring
• Installation of network equipment
• Capable of using hand and power tools

You will Receive:

• Work opportunities from small one man installation to large complex installations involving a team of technicians
• You will be involved in Copper/ Fiber Network cable projects
• Base Salary plus Bonuses depending on your speed, efficiency and how smart & hard you perform

Minimum Guaranteed hours of work - 30 hours/week. Starting Rate $28.00/hr. Technicians will be required to submit timesheets on a Weekly Basis.

Location of job - Auckland
